What Trainers Are Saying

"I found the Trauma Informed Training very helpful when it came to taking on my clientele. All of the scientific background information helped give me a theoretical understanding of what my clients' point of view might be like as a trainee. I also like how the training was concluded with reminders to actually treat our clients just like any other client, avoiding coddling/babying them as empowerment is the ultimate goal."

— Course Participant

"I actually think the insights learned in our training carry over to an approach with any client. Overall I think the training and experience have made me better at critical thinking and collaborating with a client."

— Course Participant

"I am definitely more aware of my body language, what I say, how close/far I stay from the client."

Founder, Muscle Inspires New Empowerment (M.I.N.E.)

Dianna Scotece, CSCS, is a Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina and held NATA certification from 1999 to 2004. Over a career spanning more than 30 years, Dianna has managed corporate and commercial fitness centers, led a wide range of group fitness classes, and continues to work as a highly regarded personal trainer. Her personal athletic pursuits have included bodybuilding competitions, marathon running, and—for the past 12 years—competing at the national masters level in Olympic weightlifting. Dianna is especially passionate about empowering women through strength training. She specializes in teaching women to use barbells and dumbbells, emphasizing the physical and psychological benefits of resistance training. In 2017, Dianna founded Women of Iron, a powerlifting-focused event designed for women aged 50 and older. Witnessing participants celebrate their achievements in squats, deadlifts, and bench presses—and seeing the community and confidence that emerged—deepened Dianna's commitment to expanding access to strength training. In 2019, Dianna collaborated with Sanctuary for Families, New York's leading service provider for survivors of gender-based violence, to develop a pilot program that introduced survivors to weight training as a tool for empowerment and recovery. In recognition of this work, Sanctuary for Families named her a Pillar of Change Honoree in 2020. Building on this initiative, Dianna went on to found Muscle Inspires New Empowerment (M.I.N.E.), a nonprofit organization that partners survivors of gender-based violence with trauma-informed personal trainers. Through M.I.N.E., survivors learn the fundamentals of strength training as part of their ongoing journey toward health, healing, and community.
